Faithful Dawn were formed by Glenn Wilson and Sarahjane back in 1990. Early demos "Awakened EP" and "For Never to Share" were received well by the press, Sounds and Melody Maker at the time both reviewing them. At this time though there were no live shows and releases were self financed.
Then in 1994 Glenn and Sarahjane teamed up with Norman Jones a young kid/electronic wizzard that helped them produce 3 tracks which really started the wagon-wheels rolling, combining dark lyrics, guitar fused with extreme electronics (in what later became known as 'trance') Faithful Dawn produced "Sequel", "Enchant Me" and "Voices". These tracks were immediately picked up by the Goth scene and inspite of a brief flirtation with Dance label "DiscoMagic UK" the band landed a deal with Goth label Nightbreed Recordings and released their first album "Temperance" in March 1997.
From hereon in the band started playing live, recruiting Nick from Midnight Configuration on guitar initially before Glenn Took over the guitar from keyboard on stage later. Glenn set up his own label Dark beat Records with Sean and Josie from Athamay and released their second album "You are Here" in May 1998. This album was well received amongst the National press - Melody Maker's Everett True describing it as "Sexy Gothic dance with the undertones of faithless and a voice Shirley Manson would kill for" and Rock Sound (incuding interview). In 1998 BBC recorded a rocumentary following them through their routine to performance on "In the City". Dark Beat Records later went on to release albums from Nekromantik, Narcissus Pool, Sneaky Bat Machine and later through imprint Infinity Records, These Crimosn Dreams, Seize and Blade.
Faithful Dawn continued playing live throughout the 2 - 3 years headlining festivals like Damage and playing Whitby (WGMF) 98 and Infest 99 among many of the highlights as well as two major tours (Darbeat tour in 98 and Infinity tour in 2000).
Faithful Dawn finally called it a day in March 2000. Sarahjane has since worked with Jonathan Sharpe (Novusuk - check out myspace.com/novusuk for new details of album and tour!) and Adfinem. Glenn continues to work in the music industry as a promoter. There are recent recordings, which we will put up on myspace soon. It's not impossible that a reunion will happen soon, it has been discussed but not planned - watch this space....
